Ironic isn’t it, the punishments did not fit the crime, poor Medusa I ache for her sad story.

Agreed, Dorie

Poor souls… always punished with such lack of imagination.

If Olympus had hired a proper dramatist, at least the myths would’ve suffered beautifully. 🙃

PancakeSushi's avatar

Yeah, and why the cruelty? Seems awfully spiteful to constantly peck a guy's liver out, just for distributing fire…

Brrrrr…..

Mike… I’m crying, why does this read like you quietly rewrote Greek mythology out of sheer mischief and mild pettiness?

Prometheus getting tickled instead of liver-gnawed?

Sisyphus doing CrossFit with sand??

Hercules downgraded to “professional pebble stacker”??

And Medusa with googly eyes absolutely finished me.

You’ve basically turned the entire pantheon into a chaotic community service program — and honestly, I’d watch that show.

😂 I'm glad you got a laugh, you sure provided one. Poor Hercules, and my sacrilege has not gotten any offers...yet

AsukaHotaru's avatar

poor Hercules really didn’t deserve to be demoted to pebble intern, but I’m glad your “sacrilege” gave us both a laugh.

Hollywood just isn’t ready for ticklish Prometheus yet — give them time.

Perhaps if I included relationship drama, or a reality TV spinoff 🤔

This is such a fun, gentle reimagining of all that mythic suffering. I love the kindness and humor woven through it.

Thank you, Andrea

And if they had known what awaited them, would they still have embarked on the journey of their lives? What do you think?

PancakeSushi's avatar

Maybe Hercules, because of the personal nature of his Labors, to atone for his wife's death, but the rest paid a price that seemed petty. Except for Prometheus, who has a tragic/heroic aspect. And the rivalry between the gods and titans means he was doomed regardless

Phoeby's avatar

It seems that this time I won’t agree with you. Just a little bit :))

Phoeby's avatar

They would have gone on this journey anyway, even if they had known what awaited them. That’s what I mean.

PancakeSushi's avatar

Ah, you could very well be right.

This is a clever, playful reimagining of classical myths that blends humor, empathy, and modern sensibilities.

The piece is witty, irreverent, and imaginative, successfully turning tragic myths into humorous thought experiments. It works best as a playful reflection on empathy and the absurdity of punishment.

PancakeSushi's avatar

Ah! I knew you'd get it!
